Books & Projects

This page is home to the writing and projects emerging from Invictus by Genna, including a forthcoming book. Rooted in years of grief education, peer support, and community work, these offerings are meant to serve as navigational tools—helping readers orient themselves, steady their footing, and find language for experiences that often feel unspeakable.

Like any voyage, this work is unfolding in real time. New projects will continue to take shape here as ideas are tested, refined, and brought to shore—each one guided by the same commitment: to meet grief with honesty, presence, and deep respect for the human experience.

You’re invited to return as the tide shifts and new work comes into view.

Supporting Grievers Book

As an award-winning social sciences researcher, I am working on a book project about how to support people who are grieving. The book will include real stories and helpful ideas from people like you to help others better understand how to be there for someone after a loss.

Why Participate:

Your story can help others understand how to support grieving individuals. By sharing your experiences, you’ll contribute to a meaningful resource for those navigating loss.

Who Can Participate:

Anyone who is 18+ and has experienced grief or supported someone grieving is welcome to participate. Your unique perspective is valuable, whether personal or professional.

How to Participate:

Simply reach out to express your interest! Interviews can be scheduled at your convenience, either in person, by phone, or virtually. A written survey option is also available. Interviews last about 60-90 minutes with the option for a follow-up interview.

What to Know Before Participating:

Participation is voluntary, and no payment will be provided. Your privacy will be respected, and you can choose to share your story anonymously if preferred. You will sign an interview release agreement. You can respond via a written survey if that is easier than doing an interview.
